Artéfacts ARTIFACTS Charcoal on a floral foam base, about 30 × 30 × 20 cm 2017. Carbon is the result of the degradation of organic matter. It is the origin of everything that exists and is everywhere around us. Coal is a material made of all these remnants of life and I wanted to give it a precious look by cutting diamonds. The material collected in its raw state is then processed to make it unique. My desire was to create a strong contrast between the poor and brittle aspect of the coal and the hardness and rarity of diamond. There are opposed by there appearance but equal in their composition: carbon.
